I'm sitting waiting for a batch of images to download from iStock so I can start inspecting them. The real time counter is at 998,164 files as of the second of posting. So only 1,836 images to be approved before we hit 1,000,000 files live on the site. Incredible, simply incredible !
I remember when I joined the site back in Feb 2001 there were a few thousand images. Just after I started inspecting in 2002 we hit 30,000 files. The growth has been insane, and I'm proud to have been part of it. I can't wait to see what the next 4 years brings !
With just under 65% of inspected images approved, it means the inspection team need to process about 2824 files to hit the mark. Will we get it done today ? Time will tell....
Here's my first batch of uploads from last weekends Stiffupperlypse. Stiffupperlypse was an unofficial iStockphoto.com meet up, however with sponsorship from iStock, Canon UK and Bowens.
We had 30 photographers, 22 models, 5 organisers and a few runners. Shooting was over 2/3 days in a variety of locations. Lots of fun, hard work and sweat!
I didn't get to shoot much as I was one of the organisers, but I'm very happy with the images I've got. Who needs to shoot several thousand shots when a few hundred will suffice !
